Youth Formation

Religious Education

We offer Religious Formation Classes for children in First through Eighth Grades with preparation for First Communion and Confirmation. Our program assists families with the religious formation of their children, recognizing that parents are the first teachers of their children.

Class time at St. Anne Church for grades one through eight is Sunday’s from 9:00 to 10:15 AM with doors opening at 8:45 AM. Sunday morning Mass time at St. Anne is 10:30 AM. Confirmation students will be attending Mass at 10:30 AM as part of the Confirmation class.

Class time at St. John the Baptist Church for grades one through eight is Wednesday’s from 6:00 to 7:15 PM.

You may choose one location consistently for class attendance.

Preparation for First Communion and Confirmation require more than one year of preparation. Students are placed in classes according to their knowledge and past attendance in Religious Formation Classes. A child may be placed in a class that is a different grade level than their public-school class. This depends on their previous experience in Religious Formation classes and knowledge of their Catholic Faith.

Registration fee is $50.00 per child with a maximum family price of $125.00.

There is an additional $20.00 fee for students attending 2 nd year Confirmation class.

Checks should be made payable to St. Anne Church. Financial help is available if needed, please contact the parish office.

Classes for the 2025-2026 school year will begin on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at St. John and Sunday, September 7 at St. Anne.

If you would like more information, please contact the parish office at 309-755-5071 ext. 5.

Totus Tuus

Totus Tuus is a Latin phrase that means “totally yours”, a motto given to us by St. John Paul II in describing his dedication to Jesus through Mary. During one week in the summer, we provide Catholic children entering grades one through twelve, a prayer-filled environment that will help them become closer to Christ through his Mother Mary. A creative and enthusiastic team of young adults from the Diocese of Peoria will help youth come to know and devote themselves to Mary, our Mother. Program information is available on the Diocese of Peoria website, www.cdop.org. Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve meals throughout the week as well as many other opportunities are available to help. Please contact Connie Vervaecke at (309)755-5071 ext. 5 or email connievervaecke1@gmail.com.
